Bus feeding…

I finally got around to getting bird seed for the VW Bus bird feeders we got awhile ago. We temporarily just placed it on top of a cut off tree trunk. It looks some of the local birds found it.

Ten tons of dirt…

Well I never though in my lifetime I’d be ordering 10 tons of anything. We are going to redo the planter boxes and level different areas of the property. After years of rain and wind the soil eventually eroded away. At some point the soil lost needs to be replaced.

I ordered 5 tons of Sandy Loam and 5 tons of compost mix. The filler dirt is a actually a mix of 50% sand, 43% silt and 7% of clay or less. This is is used primarily as filler dirt even though you can use it for grow soil.

We will moving all the dirt using wheel barrows!! I did 6 loads earlier and it’s not easy. Even going to down the hanging on can turn into a cartoon scene really quick.

Valley Springs Car Show…

We checked out the local Valley Springs car show and it was held at the Jenny Linds Veterans Memorial District.

There were plenty of street rods, hot rods and classics but very few VW oriented rides. Like most general car shows VW’s are not much of a showing. The VW community tends to join in and support the V-Dub shows in their area.

Gas station trinkets…

Went to a local swap this morning. The weather was screwy cold and wet. The vendor turnout was fairly small compared to last months.

That being said the sellers we wanting to get rid of their items at very good prices to offset the cost of the booth fees and time to transport and setup.

I scored on these gas station tag plates and stickers. I bought the sellers entire inventory.

The bistro set hunt score…

I found another Bistro Set at the San Andreas area. The seller is a vintage items collector and had this set up for sell on the local social media forums. It happened “Evan” was going to be in our area so he was willing to deliver. What a score in convenience.

Wifeys plans to have at least a half dozen unique sets spread across our property at different cool viewing angles. I thought this was a great idea, I’d never would have come up with it.

Dinky steering wheel…

We went to a garage sale earlier today and picked up a few items. One of these items was an old school low rider classic mini steering wheel. I never sported one myself but can definitely remember those that did. I had to get it as a souvenir.

Also picked up a couple ice parlor bar stools shown in the photo. Very cool pieces for the Manetarium.
