Wifey came up with this really cool idea to have nice wrought iron bistro sets strategically placed around the property for the different times of the day sitting locations. We’ve been looking around and found a few in the used market but always came up short when trying to get it, always got beat by another buyer. I picked this set up after wifey gave it the nod. luckily this time the seller was very close to my and actually not too far off my commute route home.
This particular bistro set is located on the West side of the balcony overseeing the horse shoe pit area, not to mention the shop view too. Lol!!
Last night I traded my 2006 Camry for 1980 Vespa 100 Sport. It currently runs and drives. I’ll do the research on this model and see what needs to be done to make it mechanically sound for riding around.
With us living in the hilly areas it’s not going to be one to ride as a daily driver, it will used more so for flatland and car show prop for the buses. It really depends how long I keep it.
This is a two owner Vespa that has been in the family ever since it was purchased back in the early 1980’s. The original owner was a DJ in the Southern California area and used it to commute to work. When he passed away it was given to his nephew, no other family members wanted it. This is who I made the deal with.
The paint is in surprisingly good shape. There are dings and dents but the overall body and paint is in great condition. As far as I can tell all the parts are there. It’s very possible at some point the original pieces were exchanged for aftermarket or original replacements.
I was able to fix the 2006 Camry and found someone that wanted to trade for it. I got lucky as this person had a heavy duty car trailer and truck rig to pick it up. We tried to get it loaded down in the shops driveway but the incline was too much. Ended up using my driveway up the hill.
I went to a home out in the rural Galt area for a 15 gallon Quaker State oil can that I plan to use as a garbage can. It turned out this place had other items for sell that I was interested in purchasing like these license plates.
I was able to score six states that I currently do not have. Cool shit for sure.
I put on some time working on the horse shoe pit this evening. It’s getting closer to being usable. I plan on making this area a highlight so I doubt it will ever be finished.
I have to say, commuting the mother lode is way different then any route I’ve ever taken. I ride over a single lane dam bridge both way each day. This dam is used to control the water from Lake Pardee all the way down to the East Bay.
There are parts of the ride that has hair pin turns, meaning you’ll make a turn and end going the opposite direction. One note on caution, there are a ton of wild life crossing and flying over the roads. The biggest thread are deers jumping the road fence lines. I’ve seen them jump over fences up and down the Lake Pardee Recreation Park grounds. Just need to be aware at all times.
I’m looking to hire a window screen service to fit and make Pop Shop screens. I initially thought I needed 3 and didn’t realize one of the longer windows requires 2 screens.
My surveillance cameras caught Mike at different parts of the property. The addition of screens will really help during the hot ass summer days and nights. I don’t ever plan on installing air conditioning so fans and ambient cross breeze is as good as it will get.
