This had me cracking up, I had to post this one.

Huge Storm Coming…
Where the heck is it? After the news and media hype it doesn’t look like it’s storming at all. We’ve had regular rainy days with more precipitation. Maybe it will come later on today but it supposed to have been here already. What a dud.
Josie Exhaust…
I’ve had several different exhaust configurations since I’ve owned Josie. All of them were acceptable except when I was running glass packs with straight thru’s. That configuration was so loud it was embarrassing. I picked up a pair of Flowmaster 10’s from a guy in Livermore. He had it running on his SRT Magnum and removed them for a different type of exhaust.
I’ll have them installed next weekend when the storm blows over. I don’t want to take Josie out in the rain since I don’t have my new weather seals installed (except the trunk, that’s done).
One thing that trips me out with the exhaust from the older cars in the 1960’s is the diameter of the pipes used. Mines are about 1.75″ and the newer exhaust looks to be 2.5″, definitely larger diameter than what I have now. I guess back in the day that was a normal setup.
Cinemagraphics…
Trying out Cinema Graphics technique. I’ll upload more onto my blog as I figure it out.
Hello 2017!…
First photo upload of the year. It’s a shot taken in my garage that I applied Photoshop actions.
1963 Thunderbird Temp Control…
I took Josie out for a ride and cruised along. All was going good until I got home and turned off the ignition. The motor turned off as expected but the electric radiator fans kept on spinning even with the ignition key completely removed. After some troubleshooting it turns out the piece of shit Durale controller failed again! This is the second one I purchased. I thought the first failure was due to a fluke but I guess they are not as robust they claim to be.
I ended up using a temp sender on the intake manifold that is set to 175 degrees fahrenheit. This activates a 12V 60A relay that powers up my dual electric fans. So far it seems to be working, it turns on as expected and the engine is running about 185 degrees (original setup was at 180F). Even though it is an increase in temperature it is not necessarily a negative thing. I’m closer to optimum running temperature.
I still need to figure out a manual “turn on” mode just in case something happens to the temperature sensor on a hot day.
Christmas Day 2016…
Last minutes counting down. Not too much went on today, actually nothing went on today. Dooooh!
I am trying out a different battery maintainer on Josie’s battery.
Rainy days..
Its the day before Christmas eve!
SLK230 Alternator…
?Apparently the stock alternator of the SLK cannot provide enough output current to sustain the small 500w amplifier I installed in the back trunk area. If I turn up the volume the interior dash lighting and front headlights fluctuate in brightness when a heavy bass beat is produced.
I may have to update the alternator to a higher amperage model, I’ve had this issue with other high power stereo systems in the past. Nothing new.
