The cases are continuing to rise. We are now over 1200 cases in our dinky county. I’m fairly certain this is not due to business staying open but rather that families are still not practicing social distancing. The past end of the year holidays will contribute to the expected spike in positive cases.
We are getting ready for our first Sacramento run. It’s an annual low rider cruising event held at William Lan Park. The plan is to hook up with a few relatives that are into the season.
This year has to be characterized as one of the worse in many people’s lives around the world. The pandemic took its toll and continuous to fuck up many lives. A constant topic for my blog had been the weekly stats as they came out. The news was so messed up I really didn’t have the motivation to do my regular nonsense postings on life. It seemed so trivial compared to what is going on around us, I mean all of us. There’s not a person around who’s has escaped the affect whether directly or indirectly.
I’m not sure what 2021 will bring but the assumption and hope it has to be better than what we just went through. Or will it? In our county we hit 1,131 confirmed cases. I think the number is higher. I believe we had it COVID-19 during the last week of February. We had other friends suffering from crazy ass flu symptoms and never went to the hospital thinking it would pass like it always does.
Even though people are now aware of COVID I don’t think they are going in and being tested. A lot of these folks are considered essential and don’t want to be out of their workplace thinking they may lose their job. Out of site, out of mind.
So, on a good note. We will be celebrating New Years the same way we did with the previous holidays. Just the two of us, this time spaghetti and giant meatballs on the menu along with lobster tails for Mami.
There’s enough giant meatballs to feed the surrounding neighborhood.
I tried repairing my Mackie MCU Pro but could not located the transformer that I suspected as being faulty. I ended up buying the entire power supply board. I did the replacement this afternoon and after testing, verified the annoying high pitch whine is no longer being emitted.
It was worth reaping the mixer as this is not a cheap piece of gear and it should last for more years to come.
Heading to work this morning in the fog. This photo was taken near Pardee Dam. It was foggy at the higher elevations. Once I hit the valley it all cleared up.
What’s weird is looking through the iPhone screen I get better visibility. Direct view through the windshield is hazy and what appears to be more fog than it actually is. Odd shit.
