To see if this blog even still works! I had to migrate from a piece of shit service to a super great server company.
I guess in the end it all worked out because I was getting so frustrated with IX web hosting and Host Gator has so much more to offer, I just never looked around.
Completed the Fuji X100F lens trilogy. The standard 35mm along with the 28mm wide converter and 50mm teleconverter. With this trio of focal length let’s see if I can go with out lugging around the 5DMK3 and all the freakin’ heavy L-glass.
I received a notice earlier this week that all my freakin’ domains wouldn’t be transferred to the new server. It turns out IX Web Hosting is going kaput. I’ve notice an increasingly shittier service the past months but let us slide.
I’m now on HostGator services and so far they are freakin’ great. They even have online chat support that is active 247. They’re services are more complete and up to date. In a way I’m glad I had to change services.
I’ve read a lot on Magic Lantern ever since it was introduced. I had the supported cameras but never had the hankering to give it a whirl.
Recently I started dinking around with video again and thought I’d give the latest version a try on my Canon 5DMKIII. The installation is well documented and painless.
I’ve been using ML for about a week now and so far have not had any negative affects and the advantageous of the extra capabilities seems to be worth keeping ML running for awhile. Now if this hack bricks my chit I’ll be pissed.
Let’s get this day started. What crackin’! Well chit… we spent most of the day making sure our dogs didn’t dig a hole through the kitchen floor to the outside. Both of them don’t like the 4th of July.
Wifey and went to the Golden One Center to check out several basketball teams. We were able to watch the Kings, Warriors, Heat and Lakers rookies battle it all out for the first game of the season. It was cool since this was my first visit to the new to me stadium. The photo below was Bagley’s very first dunk in an NBA game. I took this using a Fuji X100F since you’re not allowed to bring a camera into the arena with a removable lens. Th X100F has enough pixel resolution to crop in closely and still have a decent photo.
This is weird for us. It’s the 4th of july week and we here at the West Coast and not at our grandsons place at NOLA. We had our visit earlier a couple weeks due to my work schedule.
I took off early this evening to do some sunset shots. I’ve seen photos from local photographers and kinda got the idea and angles they were using. There are some good angles at the beach but your going to have to go in deeper to pull something different than the common sandy beach shot.
These shots were taken going in foliage, unfortunately I didn’t bring my flashlight so I had to leave before it became so dark I’d be stepping on some alligators head or walk into a hanging dangling snake.
The old brick building is the remains of the sugar mill. Not much left after being weather beaten throughout the years. It is one of the historic markers in Mandeville. These are the others recognized markers.
