I picked up the Metabones adapter. Firmware 0.63.

dwayne in the manetarium
Check out who stopped by the Manetarium and will be posing for me at will. That’s right, the Rock himself.
My buddy gave me this display which worked out perfect for me trying out different auto focusing settings on my Sony A7iii.
This is probably the first camera that I have spent so much time understanding the focusing system. The auto focus is one of the main reasons I jumped over to Sony. I’m a Canon and Fuji shooter so adding a 3rd camera platform was not my initial choice. I was thinking of going the route of the Fuji XT-4 but the video capabilities and the Sony A7iii is a full frame mirrorless versus the Fuji XT-4 crop sensor seemed to be going backwards.
I’m hoping I will still use my Fuji X100F on occasional street photography projects but we’ll see.
Horseback Riding…
One thing that has been on Mami’s todo list is to go for a horseback ride. Late last year I had found this company not too far from our place that provided this service. Today we are going to cash in on our certificate and go for ride!
I’ll be updating this blog with photos when we get back. Our scheduled time is an hour from now.
sf streetshooting
Son and I went for a morning street shooting session at San Francisco today. We focused in the Chinatown area.
Had a some Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches at Busters. This place is considered to be first of its type in the area.
I could have not taken one photograph and it would have still been the perfect time.
Fire!!
The worse thing that can happen beyond your control is a fire caused by some jackass performing a burn pile and losing control of it.
This was my view coming over Pardee Dam Road. Not a good sight to see knowing it’s the same direction as home.
We got lucky as night came, the fire started heading East and the firemen on the ground kept it from going over the hill towards Valley Springs town area. During the day the air support both helicopter and airplanes created a fire retardant line that stopped the forward motion. If this was a windy day it could have gotten ugly really fast.
Zoom H6…
I picked up another piece of hardware gear, a Zoom H6. I was originally looking at the Zoom H4N but I was checking out the local Craigslist and stumbled on the H6 model at a very good price.
Oh oh. Another interest…
I’ve been messing around with remote toys ever since I was kid. The most reason was the DJI Phantom series drone that I had to completely modify for longer flight times and further range. I grew tired of that hobby and that was the end of remote toys.
Hello RC cars! I’m looking to mess around with these things but mostly to get into building up a track and obstacle course to screw around in.
We have a perfect spot in the west side of the property. The grounds are flat enough to do some track racing and other sections toward the back can be used for 4-wheeling along the rocks and dirt hills.
Damn it Detour…
When I first started commuting the Ione road from Jackson Highway 16 was periodically closed and I had to head towards Jackson for another turn off towards Ione.
It looks like I’ll be doing that again since the road is closed again for a few days at Mission Bar Rd due to railroad work. Bitches.
The detour roads are so messed up I’m not going to take them anymore. I’ll be going the long way around and saving the rubber on my tires and giving my suspension a break. It’s so freakin’ bad the traction alarm come on in certain areas.
Cheap motor…
I saw this motor at a local estate sale. It was the last day so everything on the property was half off. I could have bought the entire motor for $100 bucks.
I didn’t.
Sometimes things are better left alone. I’d lug that sucker all the way home only to look at it for the following years taking up space.
Show time!
Big day to show off a gizmo idea I came up a half year ago! I’ve been working with great fellas in the design and distributor side of the business.
Very cool stuff.
