It’s sort of ironic that just last night I had posted how wonderful the view is. Tonight I’m listening to reports on the scanner about a fire that has broken out on Hunt Road near the Calaveres County dump.
This is the dump I go to when we need to do a run. I’d say it is about 8-10 miles from our home. Considering that this fire went from a 10 acre burn to over 1000 acres in an hour I’m very concerned. One factor on our favor is the wind is blowing South East, so away from us for now.
I’ll be monitoring the scanner throughout the night.
It’s an endless battle having a shop in the rural country settings. Along with the piece and quiet you get the critters wildlife and insects. More specifically spiders and their damn spiderwebs and cobwebs.
Took a photo of this cobwebs before taking the dust mop to it.
There are three other cars out in the parking lot besides mine. This hotel is a ghost town due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
I haven’t seen any other guest in the entire hotel. Now that’s freakin’ crazy.
One thing for certain, the county face mask requirements are in place and you definitely see the residence adhering to the health order. This is the first time I experienced an area that actually cares about being compliant. Then again the Bay Area was the first counties to go in effect.
I went down to check on the Manetarium and it’s just too fooking hot! I’ve been kicking around the idea of a swamp cooler and checked out my friend who’s running a system at his home. It definitely drops the temperature but I’m wondering what size unit it’s going to require.
