Adobofest!

We had our own version of an Adobo Festival here in New Orleans.  Lorraine whipped up some serious grub for the family.

We stopped by the one and only Filipino Restaraunt in the city for some pancit and Lumpia. More on this later..

Nothing eventful

Night before NOLA time…

Well… It’s been awhile since I entered into this blog. The last time was when we were at NOLA. I’m going almost full out on video and photography gear. I tried to take along more but it either wouldn’t fit in my bag or would cause me to exceed the allowed weight limit.

I’m going to try and use my Tamrac roller bag as a carry on. Hopefully I won’t get any flack on its size. As a backup I’m bringing another roller bag that is certainly carry on legal but won’t be able to bring my HVX200.

I just checked my previous blog and it is exactly one month ago! I need to be more active with this blog or it’s useless.

Baby J Photo update…

We took the first flight out of New Orleans Luis Armstrong airport. It turns out there were a lot of folks with the same idea. I guess they are trying to beat the Memorial Day weekend travel rush. My wifey Lorraine took this photo as we headed back to the West Coast.

I’ll probably be posting a lot of “update” photos as I get them in…

Last day at NOLA Baby Josol

We are at the Corbin home spending our last day in NOLA with our grandson Baby Josol. I totally dig their new home. It’s on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of the city life but only a few miles to get right back in the mix.

Today was the first time that I was really able to see Baby Josol’s eyes. After one of his feedings he kept them open until we had finished our BBQ dinner.

Baby Josol goes home!

I guess you can say this week will be filled with milestones for Baby Josol. Practically everything he does will be for the first time. I’m thankful that I’m here to see firsthand most of these events or at least close to the time it happened. Today we got to hang around the Mal & Patricks place. What a great area and beautiful home.

Charter House Dinner…

After leaving the hospital for Baby Josol’s birthday we headed back to the hotel and then off to dinner. We chose a restaurant that is only a few blocks down the street. The restaurant is called the “Charter House”.

I know we have passed it many times in the past but I never realized that there was an upstairs balcony you can sit and have a meal. The location is a couple blocks away from the noisy Bourbon Street madness so you can enjoy your meal and have conversation without yelling.

Baby JPC is here!

My grandson is here and he’s perfect!! Both my daughter and grandson are doing fine, son-in-law did phenomenal! I won’t go into the details but this wasn’t a “easy as pie” delivery but everything worked out great! I’m so proud!

Words can’t really describe what I’m feeling. My grandson not only has my bloodlines of the fathers before me he also carries the name of “Josol” as his first. I can’t even recall anyone I know doing this with their child. I’m so thankful and grateful to both Mallory and Patrick. In my world that’s a sign of ultimate respect. I don’t take that lightly and forever will be proud every time I see my grandson Josol.
