Whoops! no updates…

I guess I’ve been lagging on the blog the last entry I had was our trip to the Grand Canyon. Needless to say this was the best ride we have ever taken. We saw so many sites and roadways too many to post up on here. One thing we’ve learned is that long distance riding is definitely in our blood we enjoy our time together rolling the highways.

The photo below was taken during our rides on historical Route 66 this road has been traveled by millions it is called the “Mother of Highways” since it has been around so long. We stopped by the typical tourist places like shops, restaurants. We also checked out a great Navajo gift shop that a great deal of local art of course Lorraine had a good time there.

Day 1 Motorcycle Trip…

We took off early this morning for our first leg to the Grand Canyon. The goal for today’s ride was to be able to make it to Barstow, Ca. before it got dark.

We only made a few stops for gas and lunch on the way down. There is really nothing to say about the ride down as we have gone down highway 99 many times before.

The place below was a local diner we stopped to eat in the town of Chowchilla. There is really nothing to say about this town other than we ate and had a smoke.

The last stop before we arrived in Barstow was Baskersfield. Absolutely nothing to write about during our short rest stop there.

We arrived in Barstow at a perfect time right before other travelers got in for check-in and before the lines grew long at the restaurant. We spent our first night out at the Radisson Hotel and dinner right across the parking lot at the Sizzler’s.

One thing nice about this particular Radisson Hotel they allowed us to park our motorcycle right under the entrance porch. There were a few other bikers there too doing the same thing.

Short ride…

I rode the wing over to a Goldwing speciality shop or at least they used to be one back in the day. The total mileage was approximately 110 miles. That is still nothing for me but at least my strength is improving along with my neck movement. Next week I’ll make a few 200 mile runs somewhere that should get me ready for the ride in the end of the month.

Rolled with the buds…

I went for a further ride today. Went up to SacTown to checkout an upholstery shop, grubbed at a kicking tri-tip hole in the wall joint then to see the closing of the Elk Grove HD dealership. The more miles I do before the end of the month the better for my strength during the Northern Coastal run.

Rolling again…

I’ve been riding the Harley and VTX Custom around town the past few days trying to regain strength and becoming familiar with my physical limitations if any exist. So far, I’ve been able to ride without any discomforts like I used to have.
