License plate score…

My co-Worker scored me an Alaska license plate this past weekend. Not an easy one for me to find and in great condition.

I still have a long way to go but it’s fun to look for missing plates when I’m out and about. The Northern and Eastern states are going to be the most difficult to come across for purchase.

Pops Shop…

Since the weather is going to start getting warmer I decided to put blinds in the front rear window. This will allow a cross breeze to flow when I open the front window.

The additional benefit is being able to enjoy the outside view.

Horse Shoe Pit!

What do I know about horse shoe pits? Nada, zilch! That’s why google is our friend. I spent Sunday afternoon working on our horseshoe pit area. A lot of digging, raking and moving rocks around.

We have plenty of area to accommodate a pit, I just needed to figure out what the standard playing dimensions. We already horse shoes from the previous owners so we are set.

Gum ball machine.

Ever since I got the gum ball machine from my wifey i have never attempted to put any gum balls into the machine. I cracked it open this morning to see i could fit a bunch of vintage 76 Gasoline antenna balls inside I had recently bought at a local garage sale.

I had to completely remove the glass dome in order for me to fit the balls inside.

Moon watching…

One thing for certain about living up in the Mother Lode Country. It’s hell of dark during the evening hours. On clear nights the sky is filled with bright stars that seems to be much more defined then living in the Valley.

I picked a few astral telescopes this weekend at the local swap meet and yard sells, I’m getting ready for the warm summer full moon evenings. The moon is freakin humongous and bright at night. These scopes should make it interesting to check out.

Bought me a Vette!

Rear bumper that is. As soon as I saw the ad pop up on one of the online sales sites I contacted the seller, score! I was the first in line for pickup.

I added the California license plate and proly will fill in the rear slot.

I’ll be hunting down rear tail light assemblies so I can get this sucker lit up!

BBQ’n Time…

Some folks head out to the parks or other areas for festive sceneries. We are so lucky we can just go out in the backyard and have everything we need.

Our neighbor below the hill hosted an awesome BBQ, he had 4 grills going at once so the food would be cooked and completed at the same time. That’s some mad skills keeping up with all the grills and not torching the food.

This view is from the end of our property looking downwards.

Easter weekend…

Which means a 3 day weekend for me! I’ll be messing around the homestead the most of it. I need to take care of some weed whacking and round up spraying along the roadside. WTF! LOL!!

EDIT:

Well that didn’t work out I drove over to Stockton and met with the owner of Wayne’s Trucking on Charter Way. He’s selling items he used for his business the past 50 years. I was mostly interested in a long metal table he was selling that I could use in my shop.

Since nothing cool is ever easy I had to remove everything inside the drawers and also move everything that was obstructing the way of the workbench removal.

Sucker was super heavy. We originally thought we were going to use a huge fork lift to get it onto my truck.

The workbench is going to work out well. I’m able to set some of my power tools onto the surface and bolt it down for sturdiness.

On another side note, it actually matches the shop walls fairly well. Lol!!

Man cave stuff…

I got a lead for a few man cave items. I was able to score on a bunch of oil cans. Each different in model, style and size.

I also picked up a cool vintage Kodak camera that came with the correct flash bulbs. The bulbs were unused and still in retail boxes.
